As a blogger I often receive products to review and if I'm being honest, they don't all make the cut. I like posting about products I would re-use, re-purchase and love to have sent my way again.

Two weeks ago I received a package of goodies in the mail consisting of many products including two bottles of Ascenta Skin oral treatments. I was hesitant at first to take these pills, however, the more research I did on the product the more I was eager to try it.
Less than a week ago I decided to start this treatment (4 soft gels a day) and within these past few days I have noticed tremendous changes in my skin. The pills create a balance for your skin and evens it out - no more redness, no more roughness and lots more hydration.

For $80.00 this bottle is worth every penny you spend on it. (Available in US & Canada)

Atlantic Fashion Week 2014

Once a year, the fashion scene in Halifax likes to gather and celebrate their local designers, we call this Atlantic Fashion Week. I had the honour of attending on behalf of What, When, Wear for their opening night and it was amazing!

The event was held in the beautiful Mercedes-Benz venue on Kempt Road. At 7:30 when the doors opened, the place started to quickly fill up as lovers of fashion and local supports took their seats. As the music came to a stop and the host began to speak, you could really sense the excitement in the atmosphere. It was nice to see a variety of designers of all different ages, race and sexuality come from the same place and show us what they are so passionate about.

The first show included designers such as Wear Your Label, Dustin McCormack - Clever & Clueless, Ashley Reading, Eman Mustafa, Donn Sabean, the ESME Original, Maggie MacCormack, Michelle Noseworthy, Anthony El-Cid, Perlae Couture and Mo Handahu - Clutch Culture.

As a stylist with a very broad sense of fashion and someone who is always up for new things, I absolutely loved the variety these designers had to offer. From Donn Sabean's earth tones to Dustin McCormack's edgy and raw clothing - the show included something for everyone.

This year's show featured a bar for drinks during intermission as well as a red carpet photographer to snap a shot of what YOU wore - awesome, I know! Although, I absolutely loved the way this first show was organized I would have to say that my favourite new feature of this year's show was the pop-up shop. The designers had all their items on a rack and ready to sell. It was perfect. I mean, who doesn't love to shop after a perfect fashion show?

I would like to also state that everyone behind the scenes did a phenomenal job as well; this including the Redken team, City Models, the many photographers/bloggers (alongside myself) in the media section and  101.3 The Bounce. Everything was so well done.

Below are a few of my favourite looks:

Dustin McCormack - Clever & Clueless
Ashley Reading: Ready to Wear

Anthony El-Cid

Mo Handahu - Clutch Culture

Make sure to stay posted for more Atlantic Fashion Week updates after tomorrow's closing show.

Palm Tree Boulevard

A relaxing night out in Dubai was exactly what I needed so I spent it at The Pavillion in downtown Dubai with a few girls. The view was simply amazing; lit up palm trees, buildings and towers - what else could you ask for?

Black and white has always been my favourite combination.

Nothing makes a black and white outfit complete like gold does.
Necklace from Zara // Bracelets from The Vault // Ring from Dior

Shoes from Top Shop

The inside of this area was filled with art work, study spots and business board rooms - too good!

And to top it all off - the perfect life motto!!

Breakfast at Zaboor

I had a long day today which means breakfast was essential and it had to be good. I went to a restaurant in Dubai called Zaboor which is known for it's traditional style and vibes.

Today's accessories were fun - neon colours and animal print.

Summer Vacation Essentials

My summer vacation essentials include a lot of basic pieces and neutrals. A crisp white blazer is a must-have.

A little piece of where you are visiting; for me, this Dubai bracelet was a perfect addition to any outfit.

Every girl on vacation needs a pair of comfortable heels. These TopShop heels are mine.

Top 5 Summer Getaway Essentials

There is absolutely nothing more than an exciting summer getaway. Beaches, tans, new friends and - the most exciting - prepping for your trip. The following five items are essentials for every girl's summer getaway.

1. Jean Shorts:
Whether it's a busy city or a laid back beach resort, you can never go wrong with a pair of jean shorts. They're easy for your everyday on-the-go look and can be paired with several different tops; so you can pack less but still have lots of looks to wear.  These River Island shorts are the perfect dark denim making it easy to wear for both mornings and nights.

(River Island - $47.00)

2. Bronzer:
Your tan will increase and your make up will start to become too light for you but bronzed will keep that glow you love and can be used with any tan! It's the perfect summer product. This H&M 'Gorgeous Tan' bronzing powder is the perfect size and shade for every girl. It is my favourite and definitely a must-have product.

(H&M - $12)

3. Playtex Tampons:
You're going to be constantly on-the-go no matter where you decide to travel this summer and when it's the worst time of the month, why not use the best product? Playtex Sport is the perfect product for a girl who is spending her summer constantly moving around. There are some products you want and some that you need - Playtex is both!

(Lawtons - $8.99)

4. A Waterbottle:
You want to ALWAYS have a bottle of water with you when you're travelling and on-the-go because there is nothing worse of your skin than sweating, constant heat and absolutely no hydration. This Evian bottle is my favourite for summer activities because it's got the flip cap and easy grip bottle making it perfect for when you're on-the-go.

(Needs - $3.99)

5. Sunglasses:
Every girl needs the perfect pair of sunglasses for her summer vacation, and they should always be in her purse. You never know when you'll need to put them on. My go to pair of sunglasses every summer would definitely have to be my Ray-bans; with all of the shapes, sizes and colours they carry, how could you not find a pair to fall in love with?

(Ray-Ban- $245.00)
